The Lines We Inherit
This month I want to share something deeply personal. It feels vulnerable to write because it reveals one of my greatest struggles. Yet I believe the lesson is much bigger than parenting. Whether you are raising a child, navigating a marriage, working with difficult coworkers, or learning to honor your own boundaries, I hope something in this story speaks to you.
Lately, I have been struggling with this stage of parenting.
Don't get me wrong—I truly feel like I hit the jackpot with my daughter. She is compassionate, intelligent, funny, and an incredible human being. But she is also entering that beautiful and challenging season where childhood begins to give way to adulthood. Hormones awaken. Emotions become intense. Boundaries are tested. Independence is discovered.
It's the season of, "I'm not a little girl anymore... I'm becoming my own person."
Along with that comes plenty of sass, rebuttals, eye rolls, and moments that push every button a parent has.
One afternoon, I reached my limit.
My frustration boiled over. I was pointing my finger, scolding her, and feeling angrier than I wanted to be. Yet something fascinating was happening at the exact same time.
Part of me was watching myself.
What are you doing?
I don't want to parent like this.
But how am I supposed to teach her?
Aren't parents supposed to reprimand?
Isn't this how children learn?
Then why does it feel so wrong?
It was as though two versions of me existed simultaneously—one reacting, the other desperately searching for another way.
Then something extraordinary happened.
The energy around us began to move.
The auric field surrounding my daughter deepened into a murky blue as her shoulders slumped and her head lowered. That blue energy began flowing outward, swirling into what looked like letters suspended in the air.
In that instant, I recognized where I was.
The Akashic field.
I wasn't simply witnessing an argument.
I was witnessing the moment being recorded.
I have always known that every thought, every choice, every act of love, and every act born from fear leaves an energetic imprint. But witnessing it unfold in real time shook me to my core.
I stopped speaking.
Everything became silent.
I wasn't just seeing my actions.
I was seeing what those actions were creating.
Even those of us committed to self-awareness remain human. We still have wounds. We still become overwhelmed. We still react before we respond.
As I stood there, another question surfaced.
"But this is what we're taught to do... isn't it?"
Most of us inherited our ideas about parenting, leadership, relationships, discipline, and even love from those who came before us. We absorbed generations of conditioning without ever stopping to ask whether it resonated with our hearts.
I realized that I had been standing in two worlds.
One was built upon old models of correction, conditioning, punishment, reward, and control.
The other whispered something entirely different.
Connection.
Respect.
Boundaries without shame.
I asked my daughter to go to her room.
Then I broke down in tears.
Still immersed in the Akashic field, I found myself arguing with Spirit.
"How am I supposed to do this?"
"I don't want to break someone's spirit in order to teach them."
"There has to be another way."
Then another surprising realization came.
I was angry.
Yet I was still fully present within the Records.
For some reason I had believed I needed to be perfectly peaceful to access that space.
Instead, I discovered something much more compassionate.
The Akashic Records didn't withdraw because I was imperfect.
They met me exactly where I was.
As my defenses softened, an image appeared.
A mare gently nudging her foal.
The first nudge was soft.
The second carried a little more firmness.
There was no anger.
No humiliation.
No punishment.
Simply communication.
Boundary.
Relationship.
I was also encouraged to shift from "you" language to "I" language.
Instead of leading with accusation...
Lead with ownership.
Express how my own boundary feels.
Stand firmly without diminishing another person's dignity.
That conversation stayed with me long after the moment ended.
Over the following days, I continued reflecting on what had happened.
I realized I don't have to continue parenting—or living—according to beliefs that don't feel aligned with my heart.
Does that mean I have everything figured out?
Absolutely not.
Will I make mistakes again?
Without question.
Growth isn't about perfection.
It's about becoming conscious enough to pause and ask if the way we've always done something is truly the way we want to continue doing it.
That realization extends far beyond parenting.
How many of us stay silent because we've been taught not to rock the boat?
How many of us criticize because that's how we were corrected?
How many of us abandon our own needs because we believe love requires self-sacrifice?
How many of us continue patterns simply because "that's the way it's always been done"?
Sometimes the greatest spiritual awakening isn't found on a mountaintop.
Sometimes it happens in the middle of an argument with someone we love.
For me, the greatest gift from this experience wasn't an extraordinary vision.
It was permission.
Permission to question inherited beliefs.
Permission to discover my own way.
Permission to believe that boundaries can be loving, that correction can be compassionate, and that firmness doesn't require fear.
Perhaps that's the invitation I want to leave with you this month.
Where in your life are you following a script that no longer feels true?
Where are you responding from conditioning instead of conscious choice?
Are your boundaries expressions of self-love, or are they built from fear?
Your heart already knows the difference.
Trust it.
The soul's path isn't about becoming who the world tells us we should be.
It's about remembering who we were before the world told us who we had to become.
May you have the courage to question.
May you have the wisdom to listen.
And may you always have the compassion to choose love—even when you're still learning what love looks like.

*Kyah's Journey & Wisdom*

Hello, today I will be telling you about how I found home in something I was horrified of. It all started in Florida, when my mom and I started to travel the USA in a trailer. There was a bad weather coming and hurricane warnings. I remember talking to my sister on the phone then hearing the thunder and seeing the alert my phone right before hanging up. Right after I hung up the loudest crack of lightening dropped me to the floor shaking and thinking of multiple ways to stay alive. Crazy storms, hurricane warnings, and tornadoes continued the whole time we traveled the east coast and southwest. I started to get used to it. Not love it but embrace it. We have finally moved to a home, in an area that doesn't get crazy storms. A few weeks ago, I was sitting on the couch, and I heard the first roar of thunder. I ran upstairs to tell mommy. I tapped her on the shoulder and said, "Mommy, it's storming." She said, "Oh, that's awesome, don't worry there are no tornedoes or hurricanes here." I went to lay in bed, so I could look out my window to watch the sky and listen. I actually finally felt at home. And when I woke up in the morning, I felt great. I thought to myself and wonder, how something so scary at one time in my life now felt like home. Now whenever I go to sleep and there is a storm I just smile. So, here is to being superhuman!
